The Callen Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Ronald (Ronnie) Birse to Operations Manager for Brazil, effective immediately. In his new role, Mr. Birse will leverage his extensive operational and leadership experience to further enhance our operations in Brazil. Additionally, he will play a pivotal role in client relations, business development, and recruitment strategies.
Ronnie Birse, with a distinguished career spanning 40 years, has significantly contributed to the drilling and completions sector globally. His expertise encompasses a wide range of roles, including Senior Tool Pusher, Operations Advisor, Operations Engineer, Training Manager, Senior Well Control Instructor, Offshore Installation Manager, and Rig Manager. His transition in 2004 into leadership and HSE coaching marked a pivotal shift, enabling him to work with international oil and gas companies as well as drilling contractors, to cultivate world-class leaders and high-performance teams. These teams have been instrumental in delivering operations that are both safe and efficient.
Mr. Birse’s educational background is equally impressive, holding a diploma in mechanical engineering from Dundee Technical College/Abertay University, and an Executive Level Coaching Certificate from Equilibria. His international living experience—residing in the USA, Angola, Nigeria, Australia, Qatar, Thailand, and now Brazil—equips him with a unique global perspective that enhances his leadership and operational strategies.
Speaking on his promotion, Mr. Birse shared, “I am honoured to take on the role of Operations Manager for Brazil. Ronnie lives in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with his wife, Nivea. They are blessed with a large family, including five grown children, three granddaughters, three dogs, and four cats, all of whom share in the joy of Ronnie’s professional achievements.
